Out and about - Casier -
The origins of Casier stretch right back to the Bronze Age. During
the Middle Ages, the area was referred to as Casiero to indicate
that it was the birthplace of the eponymous family.
The town offers a range of places of interest, including a number
of important Venetian villas such as the Villa Contarini, the Villa
Barbaro and the Villa de'Reali, which is to be found inside a beautiful
park, complete with lake, 'barchessa' (farm building with portico),
stable and loggia in the Venetian style.
